The Grand Tour (2016)

1 - A Scandi Flick

Jeremy, Richard and James head for the icy wastes of the Scandinavian Arctic Circle. At the wheel of their three favourite rally cars the boys embark on a catastrophe-filled adventure that takes in Cold War submarine bases – frozen lake racetracks, crashes and ski resort chaos as they drag their homemade houses from the coast of Norway to the Russian Border. 

1 - Motown Funk

In the first episode of a brand new season, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May make a pilgrimage to Detroit to drive three highly tuned muscle cars on the deserted streets of this once-great motor city. Also in this show, Jeremy drives the super-lightweight, super-hardcore, 789 horsepower McLaren Senna.

1 - The Holy Trinity

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May start their brand new car show with hundreds of cars, thousands of people, a fire spitting metal scorpion and a squadron of jets in the California desert, plus three amazing hybrid hypercars and a brilliant BMW.

1 - Past, Present or Future

For the opening episode, we are in Switzerland where the presenters compare a Lamborghini Aventador S, a Honda NSX and an all-electric Croatian supercar called the Rimac Concept One in a battle of past, present and future. Richards hillclimb takes an unexpected turn. And Ricky Wilson of The Voice UK and David Hasselhoff from Americas Got Talent go head-to-head in the all-new Celebrity Face Off.

2 - Colombia Special (1)

In a special episode, Clarkson, Hammond and May clatter across Colombia in a Jeep Wrangler, a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up and a Fiat Panda 4x4 as they attempt to capture high quality images of interesting animals to be used as Amazons new screensavers, encountering epic scenery, extreme peril, weird hobbies and even some actual animals along the way.

2 - Uma Caçada Intensa

O trio finalmente volta às quatro rodas. Armados com carros esportivos, Richard, James e Jeremy acham que terão uma confortável viagem quando chegam à Ilha da Reunião e correm no asfalto mais caro do mundo. Mas um desafio bizarro os leva para Madagascar, onde terão de lidar com a estrada mais difícil do mundo, dirigindo alguns dos carros modificados mais estranhos já construídos.

2 - Eurocrash

Jeremy, Richard and James head to Central Europe on a road trip nobody has ever thought of, in cars nobody would ever dream of. This epic 1400-mile journey takes them from Gdańsk in Poland, through Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia. They sample some Soviet style Formula 1, are attacked by deadly archers, recruit a famous racing driver and take part in a spectacular Fast and Furious climax.

2 - Operation Desert Stumble

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May bring the traveling Grand Tour tent to The Cradle of Humankind near Johannesburg in South Africa. In this show, the three hosts are forced to become special forces soldiers with an all action challenge at a top secret training base, deep within Jordan. Also in this episode, Jeremy introduces the 800 horsepower Aston Martin Vulcan to the Grand Tour test track, and James is sent to investigate an unusual form of motorsport called spinning.

2 - The Falls Guys

We are in New York to find the fastest way from the Big Apple to Niagara Falls in a race featuring Jeremy in the new Ford GT versus James May on public transportation, dragging an injured Richard Hammond. Also, Jeremy tests the Mercedes-AMG GT R at the Eboladrome, cricketer Kevin Pietersen goes against baseballs Brian Wilson in Celebrity Face Off, and The American test driver is replaced.

3 - Opera, Art and Donuts

The travelling tent lands on the quayside in Whitby, England where Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May introduce a modern take on the traditional Italian grand tour featuring an Aston Martin DB11, a Rolls-Royce Dawn and an uninvited guest. Also in this show, Jeremy faces the consequences of a foolish bet and Simon Pegg is the star guest.

3 - Colombia Special (2)

In part two of this episode, Clarkson, Hammond and May continue their task of getting high-quality photos depicting interesting animals. In Colombia, they drive a Jeep Wrangler, Chevrolet Silverado pick-up and a Fiat Panda 4x4.

3 - Bah humbug-atti

In this show Jeremy blasts from the South of France to the Alps and then on to Turin in the 1479 HP Bugatti Chiron, James races the Kia Stinger GT against skateboarders, and Richard tries to relieve the boredom of office lunchtimes with the all-new sport of car park racing. Plus, actor Hugh Bonneville goes against naturalist Casey Anderson to find the worlds fastest person who lives with a bear

3 - Sand Job

In the remote African country of Mauritania, our trio follow in the footsteps of the legendary Paris-Dakar rally. Instead of bespoke Dakar racers, the boys must complete their journey in cheap modified sports cars. Their journey begins with the worlds longest train and sees them tackle the killer Sahara and perilous river crossings, whilst protecting their precious fuel bowser from exploding.

3 - Lochdown

Confined to the UK by Covid, Jeremy, Richard and James embark on a Lockdown Special to find out just why American 70s cars never took off in Britain. At the wheel of a Cadillac Coupe De Ville, a Lincoln Continental and a Buick Riviera in stunning Scottish surroundings, the three hosts undergo many mishaps and adventures before embarking on one of their toughest challenges yet.

4 - Enviro-mental

The studio tent is back in Whitby, England as Jeremy Clarkson introduces an almost impartial test of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS against the BMW M4 GTS, and the three hosts attempt to make cars from sustainable materials. Comedian Jimmy Carr is the celebrity guest.

4 - Unscripted

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May attempt to show what would happen if The Grand Tour made a completely unscripted film with no pre-arranged locations, no set-up stunts, and no planned incidents.

4 - Pick Up, Put Downs

In this episode Jeremy Clarkson drives the Volkswagen Amarok, Richard Hammond tries a Ford Ranger and James May is in a Mercedes X-class as they attempt to find the best of the new breed of European pick-up trucks with a series of tests based on life in the developing world. Also in the show, Jeremy is at the Eboladrome to try out the snorting, swollen, near-600 horsepower Jaguar XE Project 8.

4 - Carnage a Trois

Everyones favourite trio are back and theyre here to answer a very important question: Whats going on with French cars? Join Clarkson, Hammond and May as they investigate the wonderfully weird world of French cars on their latest Grand Tour adventure.

5 - Moroccan Roll

The Grand Tour studio arrives in Rotterdam where Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May introduce a lightweight sport car test featuring the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, the Mazda MX5 and the Zenos E10 in the stunning landscapes of Morocco. Also in this show, Hammond and May play a traditional board game using cars and Dutch band Golden Earring are the guest stars.

5 - Up, Down and Round the Farm

Jeremy Clarkson decides to make one of those Ken Block-style car skidding videos that are very popular on the internet using an old Subaru and a suitable swathe of English farmland. His endeavours are swiftly dismantled by Richard Hammond and James May who are on hand in the studio tent to reveal some of the embarrassing behind-the-scenes footage. Also in this show, May makes a rare trip to the Eboladrome test track to try out the tiny Volkswagen Up! GTI while Richard Hammond is in Dubai rummaging in the toy box of machinery and coming out with an incredible high-speed tracked vehicle called the Ripsaw. Plus, Celebrity Face Off sets out to find the worlds fastest person with a failed early career in a band as Preacher star Dominic Cooper goes head-to-head against comedian Bill Bailey.

5 - An Itchy Urus

Jeremy Clarkson is in Sweden driving the new Lamborghini Urus SUV, James May is at the Eboladrome trying the Alpine A110 sports car, and Richard Hammond profiles Scottish racing driver Jim Clark, arguably the greatest racer of any generation.

6 - Jaaaaaaaags

In this show, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May set out to prove that old Jaguars are not only stylish and roguish, but also strong and reliable with a road trip across Colorado. Along the way they set laps around a punishing dirt track…

6 - Happy Finnish Christmas

The Grand Tour tent is in Kakslauttanen, Finland, deep within the Arctic Circle with a show in which Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson compare the Ford Mustang V8 and the Ford Focus RS, James May recounts the bitter 1960s battle for endurance racing supremacy between Ferrari and Ford, and the presenters run through some ideal Christmas gifts for car fans.

6 - Chinese Food for Thought

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are in China to sell the virtues of second-hand Western luxury cars to local business people while getting sweaty, lost and almost burnt. Also in this show, Hammond is at the track to test the NIO EP9 electric supercar.

7 - It;s a Gas, Gas, Gas

In this episode, Richard Hammond and James May work out that the average motorist loses 36 days of their lives filling up with fuel. The pair vow to do something about it using their skill and ingenuity to invent a system for filling up on the move.…

7 - Well Aged Scotch

Clarkson, May and Hammond set out to buy rare classic cars that have yet to increase significantly in price. With Clarkson in an Alfa Romeo GTV6, Hammond in a Fiat X1/9 and May in a Lancia Gamma Coupe, the three set off on a road trip around the top of Scotland.

7 - The Beach (Buggy) Boys (1)

In the first of two special shows, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are challenged to complete an epic journey across Namibia in three beach buggies, each built to their personal spec. What starts off as a simple determination to win an argument with their boss turns into an amazing adventure across some of the most incredible desert scenery Africa has to offer.

8 - Blasts from the Past

Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond visit some evocative old motorsport locations in Europe using a pair of re-born 1950s sports cars, painstakingly rebuilt by their manufacturers to the original designs.

8 - International Buffoons; Vacation

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are told to take an RV holiday across the south western United States but rapidly stage a mutiny before re-grouping in used RVs they have modified themselves, with mixed results.

8 - The Beach (Buggy) Boys (2)

In the second show of a two-part special, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are battling across Namibia in a quest to prove that beach buggies are brilliant. Having survived the challenges of the desert, the trio must now brace themselves for even greater hardship involving rough roads, camping, rhino conservation and a rather unusual river crossing.

9 - Berks to the Future

This week, The Grand Tour arrives in Stuttgart, the home of Porsche and Mercedes-Benz. In this show, James May takes the new Honda NSX supercar to the Eboladrome to push its cutting-edge hybrid technology to the limit and Richard Hammond immerses himself in the world of doomsday preppers as he constructs a bugout vehicle that will allow him to survive a bleak future of nuclear winters, alien invasions and massed herds of zombies. Meanwhile, in a less realistic attempt at engineering, Jeremy Clarkson invents a new kind of fashionable SUV. Also in this show, the hosts attempt to meet the future demands of electric cars by harnessing power from the currently untapped actions of everyday life.

9 - Aston, Astronauts and Angelinas children

We can look forward to seeing Hammond testing the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage. He compares it to his favourite car the Porsche 911. James May gives us a history lesson as he takes a look at the cars driven by the astronauts of the Apollo moon missions. Clarkson is testing the Citroen C3 Aircross as he attempts to convince the others that its spacious, versatile and better than an elephant.

9 - Breaking, badly

Clarkson, Hammond, and May attempt to break the British speed record for amphibious cars by strapping a jet engine to an old off-roader. After testing their creation, they take it to the Coniston Speed Week to set their record.

10 - Oh, Canada

Jeremy, Richard and James reluctantly agree to test three SUVs in the rugged landscapes of Canada – Jeremy in the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, Richard in the Porsche Macan Turbo Performance Pack and James in the Range Rover Velar. The boys will test their cars sporting side at a race track and their utilitarian side with some enormous dogs, before ending in an epic race across the snowy mountains. Jeremy embarks on a legally perilous test of the Tesla Model X. This will mark the first time hes driven a Tesla on-screen since the controversial Roadster review in 2008. Celebrity Face Off finds the worlds fastest golf enthusiast as Rory McIlroy takes on Paris Hilton.

10 - Dumb Fight at the O.K. Coral

The Grand Tour: Dumb Fight at the O.K. Coral sees the tent travelling to Nashville. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May introduce their attempt to save the worlds coral reefs. In the interests of conservation, the three travel to Barbados and begin an earnest attempt to establish a new reef using only some car bodyshells as a foundation. Their efforts start badly and then get worse, involving inept crane driving, useless boat steering, and an embarrassing moment with a local hotel. Also in this show, Jeremy finally indulges his series-long Alfa Romeo obsession with a test of the new, 500 horsepower Giulia Quadrifoglio.

10 - The Youth Vote

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May celebrate the affordable, practical and fun wonder that is the hot hatchback. With Clarkson in the VW Polo GTI, Hammond in the Ford Fiesta ST and May in the unpronounceable Toyota Yaris GRMN.

11 - Italian Lessons

From the shores of Loch Ness in Scotland, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May introduce their attempts to buy used Maseratis for a bargain price and then use them to tour the drizzle flecked landscapes of the North of France. Also in this programme, Richard takes the Abarth 124 Spider to the Eboladrome, Jeremy comes up with a way to install cutting edge features in an older car, and Olympic cycling champion turned car racer Sir Chris Hoy is invited to try Celebrity Brain Crash.

11 - Sea to Unsalty Sea

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are driving the Aston Martin DBS, the Bentley Continental GT and the BMW M850i on an epic 1000 kilometre trip from the shores of the salt water Black Sea in Georgia to the edge of the freshwater Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan.

11 - Feed the World

The presenters are forced to work together to transport fish to impoverished communities in Mozambiques interior. The starting point is Mozambique, at the very southern end of the country.

12 - Legends and Luggage

Jeremy Clarkson tests two modernised versions of classic Lancias. James May looks back at the incredible story of the Porsche 917 and Richard Hammond joins Clarkson at Stansted airport as the pair attempt to speed up the journey from check-in to security to the actual aeroplane by devising two radical takes on the idea of motorised hand luggage.

12 - censored to censored

The Grand Tour tent is once again in Loch Ness, Scotland after a monster discovery since the last show. This week, the hosts tour central Europe in a Jaguar F-Pace, a Bentley Bentayga and a Range Rover Autobiography, arguing over which is the best SUV and trying not to giggle at road signs. Also in this show, Jeremy kills preconceptions as he laps the Eboladrome in a Lexus GS F, the hosts examine the point of launch control, and Hollywood legend Tim Burton is invited to play Celebrity Brain Crash.

13 - Survival of the Fattest

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are dropped in the vast wilderness of Mongolia and told to await a delivery which turns out to be some basic rations and all the flat-packed parts they need to assemble a vehicle in which they can escape to civilisation.

13 - Past v Future

Jeremy Clarkson and James May introduce a battle between their own, personal cars. Jeremy champions the past with his Volkswagen Golf GTI while James makes a case for the future with his electrically powered BMW i3. Meanwhile, Richard Hammond is in France learning how to drift a car like a pro, and James is sent to a damp part of England to take part, against his will, in a strange sport called winching. Plus, the recently deceased Bugatti Veyron takes part in a drag race against the current hypercar speed champion, the Porsche 918 Spyder.

14 - Funeral for a Ford

In the final episode of the series, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May present a short and informative history class on one of the bedrocks of British life.
